OVERVIEW

REQUEST FOR ACCESS FORM BELOW

Recent developments in connectivity solutions, cloud computing and analytics have enabled the creation of new tools to operate power plants more efficiently and sustainably, allowing for significant OPEX and emissions reduction without compromising the plant’s reliability and availability. Sumitomo SHI FW (SFW) is at the forefront of developing advanced analytics for CFB and BFB operation through customer co-development partnerships providing valuable insights to its clients on asset and fleet optimization and reduction of fossil fuel consumption.

The new analytics solution and its user interface uses process data collected from the DCS combined with boiler models to maximize the boiler output without impacting the availability. Essentially, the service provides operators and traders with real-time information on the maximum production output that can be achieved with the current fuel mix. With real-time information at their fingertips, operations staff can make informed decisions about how to safely increase the energy output of the boiler. This allows not only an increase in production but also a reduction in the consumption of more expensive, fossil-based fuels. In the long-term, the service enables harmonization of the operation between shifts  and more accurate information when planning energy trading and asset utilization. The service has the potential to provide substantial benefits for operators with both biomass and fossil-fuel-based generation assets, especially in combined heat and power (CHP) plants.

The webinar discusses the analytics services as well as the customer-collaboration approach to create value to our clients – a truly collaborative effort that brings together experts from both sides to achieve a common goal.
